What is it?

Rosacea is commonly mistaken for acne, eczema or an allergic skin reaction. It affects up to 20% of the population so is quite a common skin condition. The cheeks and sometimes nose become flushed with redness, visible blood vessels, and sometimes bumps, pustules, or dry & flaky skin.

Causes & Triggers of Rosacea:

  • Face mites (Demodex) – live, in-hair follicles
  • Digestive dysfunction
  • Dysbiosis in the gut (SIBO – small intestinal bacteria overgrowth)
  • Diet – hot spicy foods, allergies
  • Incorrect skincare -Topical skin products
  • Stress
  • Overheating sun, excessive exercise
