ROSACEA & INFLAMMATION
What is it?
Rosacea is commonly mistaken for acne, eczema or an allergic skin reaction. It affects up to 20% of the population so is quite a common skin condition. The cheeks and sometimes nose become flushed with redness, visible blood vessels, and sometimes bumps, pustules, or dry & flaky skin.
Causes & Triggers of Rosacea:
- Face mites (Demodex) – live, in-hair follicles
- Digestive dysfunction
- Dysbiosis in the gut (SIBO – small intestinal bacteria overgrowth)
- Diet – hot spicy foods, allergies
- Incorrect skincare -Topical skin products
- Stress
- Overheating sun, excessive exercise
